International Forum for the Reconversion of the Informal Economy (FIREI)

The 1st edition of the International Forum for the Reconversion of the Informal Economy (FIREI - Fórum Internacional de Reconversão da Economia Informal) aims to highlight to economic agents the importance of formalising economic activities, highlighting the economic and social benefits that formalised sectors can enjoy.

The event will also analyse the Plan for the Reduction of the Informal Economy as a case study, examining the role of economic operators, the public and state institutions acting in the process of reducing informality rates.
Scheduled to take place on 19 and 20 September in the Special Economic Zone (ZEE – Zona Económica Especial) of Luanda-Bengo, this multi-sectoral forum brings together experts, academics and government representatives to discuss and exchange ideas on the informal economy. Promoted by the Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP – Ministério da Economia e Planeamento), the event is organised by Eventos Arena. Access to the event is by invitation.
The International Forum for the Reconversion of the Informal Economy aims not only to increase understanding about the importance of formalisation, but also to boost the adoption of more sustainable economic practices and contribute to the reduction of informality in Angola, with potential positive impacts on the economy and society.
